Its like something Maynard would say to be funny. - New NIN single ONLY to come out in next few days. I think it is in how terrorist acts are immediately described with language that show our tendency to jump into Us versus Them when the Them might not be as united against Us as we think. At the same time, I jumped to conclusions with Al Qaeda - I hadn ’ t checked the news since the morning last so I am not sure if we really know what group is responsible for the London bombings. I had referenced the US confusion that all Communists were the same, leading to the ‘ domino theory ’ that made us see the Vietnam war as containment while the Vietnamese saw it as just another shitty civil war.

Just so you know, this country's smack in the middle of a political crisis. People are slinging mud, calling for the President to resign, taking to the streets with banners and shaking fists. While I'm not sure if we 're going to have a new "President" next week, I at least know one thing for sure. I was getting Neil Gaiman to sign my copy of Smoke and Mirrors! Neil at the Rockwell tent. And a thousand other people. Neil reading from Anansi Boys, and rather successfully. We were laughing, planning to buy the book when it comes out. If I close my eyes, his voice reminds me of Alan Rickman and Tim from The Office, which amuses me much. Nga pala, the previous post is friends-locked. And probably the next one too, because I want to put captions on the friends-only pics. Saya!

Batman Begins was dark + intense. I really liked it. Also, Billy Corgan's album Thefutureembrace is * really * good. I've had it on repeat for 2 days straight now. I was reading his blog today and apparently he is planning on reviving the Smashing Pumpkins. I'm one of the weirdos who actually loved Adore and Machina... so needless to say, the prospect of future SP albums thrills me greatly. Charlotte is now just 2 weeks away.

Home is good. I haven't ventured out of the house too much, I've been absorbed in reading Angels and Demons (the prequel to The Da Vinci code), which isn't that great. I think I actually liked The Da Vincia Code better, even though I had to entertain the preposterous Christian theories. I'm annoyed over the simple things Dan Brown has gotten wrong.
